Subject	How do you clean the engine bay?

Message	I've been meaning to getting around to this. My Z has alot of residue buildup in the engine bay, and it looks really dirty since I bought it used. I have never had any previous experience with cleaning out this region before. What types of materials do I need? clothes, water(?), scrubs? What type of cleaner solution should I use? simple green, goo-gone, wd-40? Can I clean every visible spot in the engine bay, or are there some places that I should not expose to the cleaning solution? Are there easy components that I can remove and should do so while cleaning? (ie. the car battery?) I hope someone can help me clean up my poor Z! Thank you in advance!
